Gdansk NNT company cast the light on innovative, non-destructive testing and measurements methods
"Polish innovative methods for non-destructive steel-elements diagnostics - basics, implementation, benefits" is the title of the seminar organised by NNT LLC Gdansk in Targi Kielce on September 20 The seminar will be chaired by Professor Boleslaw Augustyniak PhD Hab. - a long-time academic-staff member of Gdansk University of Technology; Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics, today - the CEO at NNT.
Innovative methods of non-destructive testing which allow to perform a multi-faceted assessment of steel structures will be discussed in the course of the seminar. A given element's condition is determined with the information on stresses level and distribution and microstructure degradation degree as well as discontinuities occurrence . This information is obtained with the use of methods which utilise specific physical phenomena related to construction materials magnetization.
"Rapid internal stresses determination in steels with magnetic properties" - this is the title of the admission-free workshops also offered by NNT. The workshop session will be run by Engineer Marek Chmielewski PhD - the NNT Management Board Member. The workshop has been designed to demonstrate MEB2C Meter capabilities; the meter makes use of the Barkhausen phenomenon to determine deformation size.
The calibration process and use of measurement results for calibration curve designation will be presented in practice. Once the characteristics is obtained, it is used to determine stresses size and distribution in a welded joint of two steel plates. In addition, the latest MEB2D measuring system will also be presented; based on the Barkhausen effect, the appliance is equipped with an automated directional probe.
