HACKATHON - A GREAT MARATHON FOR PROGRAMMERS

Hackathon  the annual initiative enjoys a great interest of  information technology and the IT industry specialists and buffs.  Several-persons teams composed of programmers, graphic designers, analysts are supported by experienced mentors. They have 40 hour slot allocated to try to find a creative solution to various urban problems and harness technologies for this purpose.  Students as well as start-ups join in hackathons.  Innovations created this way will serve data collection and effective use and similar purposes.  This is a good way to involve residents in improving and developing the city.

The best applications and ideas are assessed and rewarded by the interdisciplinary Jury Panel.  The event has been designed as the opportunity for companies and cities to prosper technologically-gifted ones as well as use creative and innovative ideas.

Last year, the first edition was brought together over 170 young people - mainly high school and college students. The largest Kielce HEI, private companies, mentors and officials joined the event organisation.  The upcoming event is combined with the   Urban Policy Congress  thus a great opportunity to show the city's potential in the field of modern technologies.
