Flash-back to the first expo edition plus the 35th anniversary!
Vadim Plast Narojek celebrates its 35th anniversary. The jubilee celebrations will be a part of PLASTPOL . Vadim PLAST has been a part of the expo ever since its first edition. President Zenon Narojek was asked to share his memories related to the first edition.
- I remember the first PLASTPOL very well - says Zenon Narojek, owner of Vadim Plast Narojek. - Back then we were mainly representatives of German companies - materials providers for injection moulds production. Injection moulds were our flagship products. The expo stand were very small. The hall was divided with the use of a curtain. At Targi Kielce I felt at home. There was just one Expo Hall which is now marked the F Hall. I was familiar with the place, because I had delivered cloth-horses. Previously the hall housed WPHW warehouses owned by the Provincial Internal Trade Enterprises.
What I remember particularly well was the atmosphere and the organizers' commitment. I remember that we were invited to dinner at the Exbud hotel - the then most modern and exotic place, adorned with fountains. It was a very nice touch. The exhibitors feel really appreciated. The resonated in the industry, the consecutive edition attracted a greater number of companies to Kielce. The first-edition exhibitors declared on the spot that they would use Kielce event a s a regular showcase - says president Narojek. - In order to recapitulate the 20-year period we must also say that there were times when, for example there was not enough capacity installed in the halls, utilities were not available, at times we had rain-water coming into the halls. However, despite of various mishaps the expo has developed its own, unique character. The expo has never been out-of-the-box solution.
The person that needs to be remembered is of course Henryk Zawistowski. He has been strongly involved with Plastpol and the whole plastics industry. For two decades he has always spurred the exhibitors to action - gave us the prod to do our best with regards to expo presentation, to have our say during the Plastech Info seminars. So it is today.
In this 20-year period the PLASTPOL exhibition has advanced to become pan-European expo. Once we looked up to Europe, now we are at par. Kielce expo enjoys world industry's recognition.
