Two play-offs were needed, but in the end it was VIVE Targi Kielce that won the third match of the final. The team defeated MMTS Kwidzyn after an exceptionally rich in emotions game. Thus, citizens of Kielce sealed Polish Championship, which goes to the capital of the Polish handball for the second time in a row. Today’s triumph owes a lot to the experience of our team.
Before the match, it might have seemed that Kielce would join the meeting from a very comfortable position. Indeed, Kwidzyn was the one to fight for its "to be or not to be” in the fight for the golden medal, but yet, Vive Targi Kielce stood before a chance of being recognised as the first team to win which has always left the floor undefeated. And this has finally happened.
However, not only the team from Kielce will be remembered. It is worth emphasizing that our opponents were playing to the bitter end. The players from Kwidzyn didn't give in to our team even in the play-offs. It was MMTS, the only Polish team, that led to a tie with VTK after the regular game time. The course of the match was full of revolutionary emotions.
Eventually, Bogdan Wenta's proteges won in the second ten-minute play-off 36:32 and won the golden medal.
Let us remind that the competitors won the Polish Cup for the seventh time by defeating Zagłębie Lublin 38:27 and was the first Polish team that qualified to the second stage in the Prestigious Champions League Games.
