Waste collection in return for attractive gifts – the event organised by Fundacja Odzyskaj Środowkisko (Recover the Environment Foundation) will be held on Saturday 19th May 2012, from 10 am to 4 pm. during the EcoFamily (Targi Kielce Exhibition Centre, 1 Zakładowa street).
The City Hall has a gift for the a few hundred people – plant seeds; all it takes is to bring 1 piece of bulk-size electro-junk (such as a refrigerator, a TV set, a computer) or 3 pieces of small electrical and electronic appliances ( e.g. a hair-dryer or a toaster) or 10 PET bottles, 10 drink-cans which have been compressed or 10 batteries. On the top of that, the first eleven people to come and bring the greatest number of bottles and cans will be presented with gifts sponsored by SodaStream with the mains prize – a Genesis appliance which can be used for preparing soda water on your own, as well as syrup (the total value of the gift 360 PLN). Five further people will be given sets of JET appliance and syrup (the total value of 330 PLN). Other five in the ranking will be given syrup for drinks and gadgets. We help to protect natural environment and limit the volume of plastic waste if we use SodaStream. In addition to that our appliances are environmental friendly since they do not require electricity – says Monika Bondarowska of SodaStream company. The waste-collection ranking will last until 2 pm and just after it has finished there will be the prize presentation ceremony for those who bring the largest number of bottles and cans. The electric and electronic junk and the waste products brought in by Kielce inhabitants will be collected by Veolia Environmental Services; the company which has operated on Kielce Market for a number of years. Veolia specialises in waste management and material recovery. All the waste products will be recycled – says Robert Szumerowski, director for operations of Veolia in Kielce. The event objective is to hand over the pre-selected waste observing all legal regulations as well as to encourage Kielce region inhabitants to be active in environmental protection. There are a few days before the event starts; you are most welcome to prepare the waste products and bring them for Saturday collection! – says Marta Szczecińska who represents Fundacja Odzyskaj Środowisko.
