The comfortable 500 – a grand show The new generation of the Setra ComfortClass 500 buses has had their Poland’s market launch at the TRANSEXPO 2012. The introduction into the European market has been made well ahead of the implementation of the Euro VI standard on combustion flue gas and noise emission. The standard will be become effective in January 2014. in addition to the new power units, the new bus series is characterised with original style design which combines the well-proven solutions with cutting edge technologies. The unique design of ComfortClass 500 is a curved line which slightly inclines and then falls down in order to meet the new decorative element on the centre pillar. The concept is also based on the soft transition between the windows and the vehicle body of this completely re- designed bus. The central feature makes the front of the bus a friendly yet a decisive look. The roof front extends further ahead and joins the window-shield which has been given a more rounded look. The front panel goes down as far as the front logo and the three-dimension company name Setra on the bonnet. The bus front as well as the mirrors have been optimised as the result of countless check-tests performed in the air-flow tunnel. This, in combination with the new, aerodynamic back and all the body details makes the new ComfortClass 500 generation achieve the unprecedented Cw coefficient for this segment which is 0.33. New modular head-lights and traffic indicators alongside with decorative elements highlight the bus’ main features – quality, safety and reliability.
