Distinguished speakers, important topics and attentive listeners
The first edition of the Inland Fisheries Congress has turned out to be a real success; it accompanies the Targi Kielce's début exhibition: Inland Fisheries Expo. The importance of such events for the industry was highlighted by the speakers;including Adam Jarubas, Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship Marshal and Marek Ferlin, the president of the Polish Fisheries Society. - Targi Kielce is glad to host another business sector - said at the opening of the Congress Mrs Bozena Staniak, vice president of board at Targi Kielce.
The First Congress' attendance exceeded our expectations, the sessions have gathered well-known specialists, representatives of numerous institutions and academic centres such as the Warmia and Mazury University in Olsztyn the West Pomeranian University of Technology. There have also been Świętokrzyskie accents - the Local Fishery Groups "Świętokrzyski Carp" - added Stanislaw Wojcik from the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship's Marshal Office, the Congress organizer. - This is the first Poland's congress of this kind. It took seven hours for the students from the Wielkopolska Fisheries Technical High School to come here in order to take part in presentations.
Among the important topics discussed at the congress there is a lecture on Raw material and product certification in fisheries Anna Dębicka - the head of MSC Poland. Health-related aspects of freshwater fish were presented by Jan Żelazny PhD of Pulawy National Veterinary Research Institute Direct sales were discussed by Olga Szulecka PhD Engineer from the Marine Fisheries Research Institute in Gdynia. The Congress speakers also included the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
