As it was announced by Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship Marshal Adam Jaurbas a delegation of the Committee of Regions – the advisory body of local and regional EU self-governments is to visit the Educational Fair EDUKACJA held in Kielce from 28th to 30th March.
- Within the framework of the Educational Fair EDUKACJA there will be the seminar “Form creativity to innovativeness” attended by the representatives of the Committee of Regions as well as the forum of school superintendents and school principles – said Adam Jarubas in Thursday
According to Mr Jarubas’ opinion the visit of the guests representing almost all EU member states will serve “as a substantial promotion of the Swietokrzyskie region capital city as well of the whole region; it will also create a chance to present Kielce as an education centre which develops dynamically and to make the guests acquainted with the self governments’ initiative towards providing school with modern school teaching aids and resources”
The role of the Committee of the Regions is to put forward local and regional points of view on EU legislation. The Committee does so by issuing reports (‘opinions’) on European Commission proposals. The European Commission, the Council and the Parliament are obliged to consult the Committee of the Regions before EU decisions are taken on matters concerning local and regional government, including the decisions regarding for example employment policy, the environment, education or public health. The Committee is currently composed of 344 members and the same number of alternate members.
The Educational Fair in Kielce is the largest Poland’s exhibition, it is extensive in its presentation of the publishing houses’ offer, the offer of educational aids producers, classroom furniture, school and kindergarten equipment as well as the IT companies which provide software for education in addition to the software which facilitates school and educational institution management.
This year the fair brought together over 210 exhibitors. The exhibition was accompanied by over 80 conferences, seminars, training sessions targeted at, inter alia, pedagogues and pupils.
