The Vive Targi Kielce players made a perfect opening of the Champions League new season – Polish Champions have defeated the French Dunkerque 33:32. Manuel Strlek scored the greatest number of goals for the host-team. EHF indicated Manuel Strlek as one of the first round’s seven best players. The farewell ceremony of Rastko Stojković was held just before the match; the board presented Stojković with a commemorative sabre; the fans’ shower of applause was the way to pay kudos for Stojković’s four years in Kielce.

The match has also marked the beginning of the new tifo-display which is to become a new standard – the presentation was held in the dim light (nc+ provides the media coverage for the event; the TV station allowed to stage the presentation in lower light, which was impossible when Polsat transmitted the matches). This was also the debut for new cheer-leaders.

This Sunday the Hala Legionów (Legions Hall) will be the venue for the next Champions League match - the Kielce team will be playing against FC Porto Vitalis
