AGRICULTURE-FOCUSED IN IN-DEPTH DISCUSSIONS - THE MEETING WITH MINISTER ZARUDZKI

The meeting of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development with farmers

The meeting was opened by Agata Wojtyszek -  Świętokrzyskie Voivode who emphasized the importance of agriculture for the region. The Lady Voivode also pointed out to the Province's extensive farmlands.  - May the farmer profession enjoy respect - this is a true mission - said Agata Wojtyszek.

Ryszard Zarudzki emphasized the Polish authorities' efforts in promoting domestic agriculture abroad.  The minister also encouraged to become an active participant of the -Agrotech expo as the trade-show offers a whole range of possibilities.  Becoming familiar with the equipment, making inquiries with the producers, requesting colleagues' opinion is the best utilisation of the opportunity - Ryszard Zarudzki told the farmers.  The minister stressed the importance of the expo - This is a true one-stop-shop option which makes it possible to make decisions on a comprehensive farm restructurisation.  Here you can meet people who help you fill out your applications, suggest how to write a good business plan - added Ryszard Zarudzki.      

The Minister emphasized that Świętokrzyskie agriculture is not only based on fruit farmers, but also poultry , pigs and cattle farms.  Ryszard Zarudzki also emphasized the beekeeping and forest management significance.

The farmers were very interested in the government representative's presentations.. A Q&A session with the Minister followed.  The meeting participants were mainly interested in financial issues - subsidies for seed material, structural pensions and support in the face of the Russian embargo.  Farmers were also curious about biosecurity and ecology.

Agrotech and Las-Expo continue until Sunday.  The show welcomes visitors on Saturday from 9.00 to 17.00 and on Sunday from 9.00 to 16.00.
