An agreement to be concluded at MSPO

On 6th September, at the MSPO exhibition in Kielce, a trilateral agreement will be concluded between Zakłady Mechaniczne "BUMAR-ŁABĘDY” S.A., Bumar sp. z o.o., and the Italian company OTO MELARA.

The agreement is relating to the joint project that these companies have embarked upon with the aim of producing the unmanned turrets HITFIST OWS 30mm, which will subsequently be offered to the Polish Armed Forces and abroad.

The factory in Łabędy is currently producing the turrets HITFIST 30mm for the fighting variant of the vehicle KTO Rosomak, which were successfully used in Afghanistan. The company has already supplied over 200 turrets designed for the Rosomak vehicle.

"Having already implemented the production of turrets for Rosomak, with the existing equipment and skilled personnel, we could start serial production of the unmanned turrets within a year. 82% of the components applied in the new turret are similar, which will have a positive impact on the economic aspect of this project. Bumar-Łabędy is increasingly open to new joint projects in Poland and abroad both in the defence and civil sectors. We want to use our expertise and production capacity also in this area," says Czesław Swoboda, President of Zakłady Mechaniczne “BUMAR-ŁABĘDY” S.A.

According to representatives of the OTO Melara company, if the production of the turret HITFIST OWS 30mm starts in Poland, Zakłady Mechaniczne Bumar-Łabędy will become the only company supplying it to the Polish Armed Forces as well as to foreign customers. Media Contact Person:
