The festival never sleeps. What happens when all others do? We checked it out at the Sabbath Fiction Fest
Magic, amazing stories, heroes with superhuman powers - these elements give the festival Sabbath Fiction Fest a unique character. Fantasy enthusiasts have gathered in Targi Kielce to share their passion, knowledge, and ... imagination.
Friday afternoon offered numerous meetings and lectures. Yet participants still find it not enough. Despite dusk settling in, the Sabbath Arena was still throbbing with life.
Intricate origami art lessons, Harry Potter knowledge contests, Real Life Raid screening with the presence of the author - Marek Walczak - these are just some of attractions galore. The evening programme started at 20:00.
The most persistent are in for night film feast. The anime marathon. i.e. night screening of movies related to anime started right after midnight, which marked the beginning of Saturday. The programme was enhanced with other cinema hits such as Dragon Ball of Naruto Shippuden. Participants who wished to stretch their legs and experience a climate change had the chance to attend simultaneously held fringe events. Rocket Jump projections continued until small hours - these are the worst films of all times, so bad ... that we want to watch (eg Dead Snow 2).
They were also the brave-ones who joined the RPG Vampire session and the captain Bomb puns session which followed shortly after.
In a nutshell - sunrise came as a surprise for Sabbath Fiction Fest participants. Well, is it better to say the participants took the dawn by surprise. Passion did not let them sleep. Quick sneak into a sleeping-bag for a quick energy charge a and you can start another fantastic adventure.
