AT KIELCE'S MSPO PGZ AND THALES ANNOUNCE - THE COMPANIES WILL WORK TOGETHER TO MANUFACTURE CUTTING-EDGE INDUCTION MISSILES IN POLAND

Representatives of the Polish Armaments Group, MESKO and the French TDA - a part of the Thales group have announced collaboration establishment; missiles induction will be produced in Poland both for the domestic and foreign markets

This cooperation is a part of a long-term strategy for the Poland's defense industry development. MESKO Skarzysko-Kamienna plant in collaboration with Thales will work together to manufacture missiles. Induction-missiles production related qualifying processes provide Polish factory with the opportunities for further growth. The ceremonial letter signing wast staged during  Kielce defense industry expo with the presence of signatories - Arkadiusz Siwko, PGZ president, Waldemar Skowron president MESCO and TDA CEO - Pierre Benard, Hervé Multon - Thales vice president and Thales Poland president Pawel Piotrowski.  

- This agreement is yet another example of the of  Polish Armaments Group's efficiency in new technologies acquisition and the exports development. The cooperation with French partners will significantly increase the PGZ Group companies' competence level and will further contribute to portfolio attractiveness enhancement. Cooperation with partners like Thales, significantly raises Polish defense industry's competence level. This is evidenced with e.g. the agreement on missile production and export to other European countries. I am glad that this partnership strengthens the relationships between PGZ and Thales - said the President of the Polish Armaments Group SA Arkadiusz Siwko.

- Our joint production capabilities and cooperation translate to new exports opportunities. This also creates a stable back-up for Polish armed forces if induction missiles are used in the future in the Polish helicopters fleet. We are delighted to support development of Polish arms industry through the advanced technologies transfer - said Pawel Piotrowski, Thales Poland CEO.

As a result of the agreement, Poland will become a producer of cutting-edge induction missiles. This also means the technology transfer to the Poland. PGZ and Thales-TDA will also examine the production possibilities for low-cost missile guidance systems.

What is the induction missile system?

Induction Rocket System; IRS  is the new-generation missile system which utilises electronics and wireless technologies. IRS meets the highest NATO standards, including the requirements of the French army and its  Special forces. IRS has been combat-tested during the recent armed conflicts (Afghanistan, Libya, Mali). IRS is lightweight, reliable, easy to use and suitable for complex operations, both daytime and night-time. This missile system is equipped with an intelligent guidance systems. This is an ideal solution for low-altitude operations, in direct troops engagement as well as for  troops support when different platforms types are used (helicopters, jets fighter and unmanned vehicles).
