EU funds earmarked for Polish roads developments - 1.2 billion has been allocated for the road infrastructure improvement in nine Polish cities: Bielsko-Biala, Gdańsk, Katowice, Konin, Piotrkow Trybunalski, Poznan, Szczecin, Torun and Wroclaw
Road construction projects will be implemented under the "Infrastructure and Environment" Operational Programme (OPIE).
- These are the 10 investment with the value of 1.5 billion PLN. The European Union financial support will amount to 1.2 billion PLN i.e. up to 85 percent of the total cost- said Deputy Minister of Economic Development Jerzy Kwieciński.
The OPIE project includes as many as 26 investments in cities with county rights. The investment project value is estimated at 4.4 billion PLN, with the total subsidy if 3.34 billion.
The large-scale investment offer a great opportunity for road industry development; new EU prospects mean further investments in Polish infrastructure. In a word - this is very good news for drivers, road construction companies and firms directly related to the broadly-defined road industry.
Poland's extensive road development plans boost the interest in 2017's AUTOSTRADA-POLSKA Expo. It comes as no surprise, because for over 20 years the International Fair of Road Construction Industry has been the presentation platform for cutting-edge construction machines and innovative road-construction technologies. The upcoming AUTOSTRADA-POLSKA is held from 9 to 11 May 2017 in Targi Kielce.
