Roads ought to be built faster, better and cheaper
Appointment of the board of experts designed to work on road construction procedure optimization, preparation of new technical investment rules and enabling local governments to co-finance roads construction process - these are the recommendation examples presented on the first day of Targi Kielce's 22 International Fair of Road Construction Industry AUTOSTRADA-POLSKA.
The proposals consulted under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction scheme were presented at the debate organized by the Ministry and industry associations. It was held under the banner of "Dialogue Pays Off - From The Road Industry White Paper To Road Construction Optimization."
- We have had extensive discussions. Despite the fact that Poland's road network has been extended in recent years, we still have the impression that roads in Poland can be delivered in a more economical way. This has been confirmed with our teams' work. All the requirements with regards to quality, durability and transport functions are still observed - said Jerzy Szmit, deputy Minister of infrastructure and construction.
- We all know how important the road construction problem is. The government finds it most important to rebuild trust and relationships between the authorities and the contractors. These are issues of utmost importance that have a direct impact on road investments timeliness and quality. Without this dialogue and cooperation, our very ambitious plan may fail. This dialogue and the Kielce debate are necessary today - said Andrzej Adamczyk, the Minister of Infrastructure and Construction.
