The programme of this year's 19 International Power Industry Fair ENEX and the 14 Fair of Renewable Sources of Energy ENEX - New Energy include meetings focussed on biomass energy generation. Sessions are organised by Polish Biomass Chamber and Targi Kielce.

Industry experts and representatives of biomass-related institutions will present up-to-date Polish regulations and conditions. Therefore farmers, entrepreneurs and local authorities could representatives are offered a broad-scope perspective on biomass utilisation for heat and electricity generation.

A day-long workshop is held on 31 March. Its agenda encompasses the new RES laws, finance provision for biomass investments, biomass certification, Poland's  contribution to the implementation of Paris' COP21 resolutions, Polish potential in biomass production.

- When it comes to biomass, we are Europe-scale super-power. On the one hand we boast one of the largest areas covered with forests (over 30%). On the other hand, there is a lot of unused arable land (which belongs to class 5 or 6; these are poor and thus unused for agricultural purposes). Approx one million hectares of wasteland may be used for energy crops. -  says Ryszard Gajewski, President of the Polish Biomass Chamber. - In terms of other renewable energy sources, Poland has some resources, but to a rather moderate scale. It is important to develop all the technologies. However this development needs to be sustainable, socially and economically justified. Therefore attention should be focussed on energy crops production which in translates into new job openings and local communities activation. We hope that 2016's ENEX New Energy Expo becomes an important place to promote innovative solutions. Biomass production - a fast-growing types of plants contributes to CO2 and smog reduction. The ecological fuels sector is still "no man's land". For more than 10 years the March workshops, held within the scope of ENEX and ENEX New Energy Expos have been a competence centre. - adds Ryszard Gajewski.

A rich workshops agenda is also the opportunity to ask questions and seek answers. The workshops available free of charge. Registration required.
