Those who join the Targi Kielce’s meeting with Elżbieta Bieńkowska will discuss defence potentials and the future of the Common Security and Defence Policy. The meeting is held in the form of civil dialogue. The European Defence Fund will also be discussed in the course of the meeting. The fund is designed to help in coordination, replenishment and increase domestic investments, primarily in the field of research for defence, prototypes development and military equipment and technologies purchase. Grants-based research is focused on innovative technologies and defence products for priority areas previously agreed by the Member States. These include, for example electronics, metamaterials, encryption software and robotics. The allocation level is EUR 90 million in the 2019 perspective, with EUR 25 million allocated for 2017. For this purpose the Union intends to earmark EUR 500 million a year after 2020.
The Civic Dialogue is a good complement to the Defence Expo held from September 4 to 7 in Targi Kielce. The 26th MSPO programme includes the II Open Days on 8 and 9 September. Poland's centenary of independence is the unifying idea for both events.
