CONSULTATION OFFERED BY THE RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF HORTICULTURE AT THE 2017'S HORTI-TECH

The experts list includes: Agata Broniarek-Niemiec PhD. - a specialist of fruit plants protection  and Anna Jarecka-Boncela PhD. - a specialistin vegetable and ornamental plants protection against diseases.  Tips on plant protection against pests will be offered by Michał Hołdaj MsC. and Damian Gorzka MsC.  Visitors will also be given the chance to consult Stanisław Pluta, PhD. on Vaccinium species.  The Institute of Horticulture is a highly specialised research institution in berry varieties selection for production.  Its expo stand at theHORTI-TECH is also the place to meet the specialist on ecology  - Witold Danelski.

It is worth remembering that the  Research Institute of Horticulture in Skierniewice covers all issues related togarden production, ranging from research on the biological basis in fruits and vegetables production as well as ornamental plants, biotechnology, genetics and creative breeding of horticultural plants, agronomic, phytopathology,nurseryand protection of the genetic resources of fruit, vegetable and ornamental plants  plants irrigation, cultivation of edible mushrooms, fruits and vegetables processing and storage, food safety, agroindustry, economics and marketing.  Owing to the fact that all fruit plants and a large number of vegetables are insectivorous, apiculture is also important in the research Intitute's research programme.

The Institute boasts many innovative, global-scale solutions, which have significantly contributed to the development of Polish horticulture.  The development of new, environmentally friendly technologies for growing fruit plants and vegetables, integrated and ecological technologies for high-quality gardening without plant protection products residue are just some of the examples.

The Institute has grown over 200fruit and vegetable plants varieties - these have constituted a significant share of Polish horticultural production
