Targi Kielce witnesses Polish-Ukrainian agreement on the creation of Polonia Environmental Cluster
Companies from Ukraine are hosted at the International Expo of Innovativeness and New Technologies INNO-TECH EXPO; they joined the conference on "Eco-innovations in environmental protection," as well as a special Ekoforum held under the banner of "Poland - Ukraine: partnership and investments for environmental protection". The Ukrainian guests were welcomed on behalf of Targi Kielce by its vice president of Bożena Staniak. A representative of the Ukrainian delegation Oleksandr Didyk, President Vinnytsia Chamber of Commerce spoke at the Congress Centre's meeting. The project leader is the East- Europe Integration Association. Polish waste recycling industry companies welcomed invitation for cooperation, business institutions, including Targi Kielce and Economic Zones and investor service centres also demonstrated their interest. The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the "Cooperation with Polonia and Poles abroad 2015" scheme.
- Polonia Environmental Cluster is designed to be a cooperation platform between companies, universities, research units and business environment institutions involved in the environment-related sector as well as investors in Poland and Ukraine - said Krzysztof Kalita, the President of East- Europe Integration Association and the project coordinator during the Targi Kielce's Ekoforum. - The Cluster aims to develop economic cooperation between expatriate Polish enterprises and business environment institutions in Ukraine.
The initiative to establish a closer economic cooperation has originated from Polonia community enterprises, institutions and NGOs, which find Poland a perspective direction for further development.
The Targi Kielce staged Polish-Ukrainian Ekoforum is a part of the 2015 project, however there are other activities, such as the training cycle combined with business workshops held under the banner of EU funds for SMEs' national and international investments, the legal situation regarding investments of environmental protection enterprises in Poland. Conferences promoting Poland during visits to Ukraine have also been planned.
