HE Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi at the SACROEXPO Expo stand
Exhibition booth of the SACROEXPO was a part of the Polish Catholic Publishers Expo in Warsaw. Upon the invitation of Jedność Publishing House, on Friday the stand hosted HE Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, the President of the Pontifical Council for Culture.
Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi has visited the Targi Kielce twice - within the scope of the International Exhibition of Church Construction, Church Fittings and Furnishings and Religious Art SACROEXPO he has personally bestowed the Pontifical Council for Culture's Medal Per Artem Deum upon Wojciech Kilar and Ennio Morricone. The Per Artem ad Deum Medal has been awarded for 11 tear at the Targi Kielce's SACROEXPO. The Pontifical Council for Culture, the body which awards this accolade, was founded in 1982 upon the initiative of Pope John Paul II. Establishing it, the Holy Father emphasized that “the dialogue of the Church with cultures of the contemporary world constitutes a significant area of activity, in which in the last years of the 20th century the future of the world is being shaped”. Thus, owing to the cooperation of the Council members, the dialogue between the Church and Culture has been continuously developing at the level of universities, experts, researchers and scientists. This has also been instrumental for bringing the culture-milieus closer.
