FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TARGI KIELCE

Diabetes specialists, government representatives, members of the Polish Diabetes Association and many distinguished guests attended the opening ceremony of the seventeenth Scientific Diabetes Congress.

Medical milieus, especially those related to diabetology find the Congress the most important event. The problem of diabetes affects many Poles. Therefore such meetings are important. Specialists need to seek better solutions designed to support diabetics and their place in the community  - this was emphasized during the opening ceremony by the congress organizers and the guests of honour.

The participants were addressed by, inter alia  Grazyna Majcher-Witczak MD PhD - president of Świętokrzyskie branch of Polish Diabetes Association and Maciej Malecki President of the Polish Diabetes Association. They officially opened the seventeenth edition of the congress; for the first time the congress is held in Kielce.

Speakers list also included: Adam Jarubas - the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship Marshal,  Agata Wojtyszek  - Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship  Governor,  Wojciech Lubawski  - Mayor of the City of Kielce,  Tomasz Matynia  - the head of the political office at the Ministry of Health.

The organizers, i.e. Świętokrzyskie PTD branch have also prepared a whle array of interesting events which have added extra splendour to the opening ceremony. The guests had the chance to admire see a laser show that opened the ceremony. Just after the official part there was a live concert of De Mono.

Thus the three-day diabetes festival started in Targi Kielce.  It is estimated that from 5 to 7 May the Congress will host nearly 2,500 people. The congress is also accompanied with an exhibition of medical companies.
