The conference focused on French – Polish cooperation
The conference on French – Polish military industries cooperation in European perspective was organised by the French embassy to Poland. The role of international cooperation for European Union military potential creation was highlighted in the course of the seminar. The French Ambassador Pierre Buhler stressed the close Polish – French cooperation in the field of armaments and indicated political convergence of the two countries as both France and Poland carefully earmark sufficient financial resources for the defence and security. – This year’s MSPO is the showcase for fifteen French companies. It is a great honour for me to speak here and address the problems France has at its heart – said the Ambassador.
The conference focussed on European Union military potentials enhancement through cooperation between its member-states. Owing to the economic downturn in Europe, defence budgets are limited and thus the countries engage smaller military resources in armament provision. However, according to Pierre Buhler, there is nothing worse than to withdraw from the international markets and limit your perations to the local market solely. – You cannot possibly make up for technological and know how negligence – said Buhler. The Ambassador indicated Poland as a perfect partner for defence industry cooperation; he has also referred to the current cooperation between our countries as well as to the plans designed to create joint industrial structures – Poland belongs to the heart of Europe’s defence – said the Ambassador.
The meeting was held within the scope of the International Defence Industry Exhibition; the show continues in Targi Kielce until 4th September.
