IN SPITE OF THE WIND

The Family Medicine Congress is held from 2 to 5 June 2016 in Targi Kielce's Congress Centre - this is the most important event for family physicians' milieus. The congress will focus on most topical issues for family doctors. Presentation of the latest achievements in medicine and clinical problems doctors face in their daily practice will be a significant part of the programme. Those engaged in scientific research will also find the conference interesting.

- The beginning of this year is encouraging. The new Minister of Health, Konstanty Radziwiłł MD PhD intends to prepare and implement the laws on Primary Care Physicians Clinic. In order to develop the assumptions for the act, a team composed of practitioners has been appointed. It comprises a large group of family doctors. - writes Tomasz Tomasik MD PhD Hab., the President of the College of Family Physicians in Poland  in his letter - the invitation for the Congress. - As a part of of international assistance, there is a chance to gain support for Poland in preparing and carrying out accreditation; this is aimed to promote efficient organization, enhance respect for patients' rights and improve medical procedures. Not only do such activities improve the quality of the PHC, but also increase the prestige of our medical specialization among general public and patients. As one of Leonardo da Vinci projects ends, family medicine teachers will be offered a chance to confirm their competences and obtain a European certificate.

A difficult period for PHC's provides a good opportunity to hold a discussion between family doctors and people actively involved in family medicine.  XVI Family Medicine Congress is also a perfect occasion for such discussions.  Lectures, workshops, training and scientific sessions offer an alternative.
