This year’s International Defence Industry Exhibition will also be the showcase for the Wojskowy Instytut Chemii i Radiochemii (Military Institute of Chemistry and Radiochemistry) and its three appliances used for contamination minimisation.

The first of the appliances is used for rendering contamination harmless with the use of nano sorbents. The device is to be used wherever it is inadvisable or impossible to use chemically aggressive liquid decontamination agents and thus sorbents are used. The innovative aspect of the product lies in the technology; electrically-charged nano structured sorbing agent puts the technology ahead of the sorbents which have been used until now.

The other appliance put on display by the Military Institute of Chemistry and Radiochemistry is the miniature, chemical detection unit PSS. The construction of the apparatus has been based on the world-scale innovation – chemical contamination detection utilises Differential Mobility Spectrometry – DMS in combination with the classic-type spectrometry, i.e. Ion Mobility Spectrometry - IMS. Compact size and ergonomically designed unit is user friendly and intuitional.

The last of the three exhibit is the PRS-1 – the Contamination Detection Equipment. The innovative technology has been designed in Poland and has turned out to be world-scale novelty. A combination of Differential Mobility Spectrometry and classic-type spectrometry allows the PRS-1 – the Contamination Detection Equipment to work as a stand-alone unit or as apart of fully integrated on-board communication system PZUŁW FONET most of the Polish Armed Forces’ land troops’ military vehicles have been equipped in SZ RP (KTO ROSOMAK).
