LETTER OF INTENT ON COOPERATION AIMED AT THE "LONG RANGE COMMUNICATIONS" PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION SIGNED DURING MSPO

The International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce saw the representatives of Polish industry and science making the first step towards the implementation of another European defence technology project.  4 September  2019 marks the meeting of the  OBR CTM SA., WATTWIL and KenBITrepresentatives  when a letter of intent regarding the establishment of cooperation aimed at project implementation was signed. The project is called  "Long Range Communications - Parallel use of HF and satellite communications in order to ensure reliable communications on the land, in air and sea," from European Defence Agency (EDA).

The project implementation proposal was submitted by the international consortium which was established at the meeting of the so-called technology panel (CapTech), dedicated to  radio communication and data exchange systems   organized by the Research and Technology Directorate of the European Defence Agency (EDA). The project main objective is to develop a reliable and flexible  long range communication system  which befits today’s war operation threats when it comes to long-range radio communications. Communication is based on parallel use of data links, the so-called Beyond Line of Sights-BLOS networks such as short waves (HF) and satellite communications (Satcom).  In the event of a failure or destruction, the system offers additional advantage - i.e. the ability to replace satellite communication with HF communication in automatic mode while maintaining its basic channels.

The letter of intent signed today is the signatories joint declaration that they will prepare the necessary documents  as well as to exchange experience and information with each other, organise joint conferences, working meetings, debates, workshops, etc. It was agreed that OBR CTM SA will be the Polish coordinator in the field of industrial contacts with the international consortium.

- For several years OBR CTM SA has actively participated in international NATO and EDA programmes  whose scope included port security, mine warfare and unmanned offshore platforms projects.  Now this is the chance to implement other proven Polish technologies. This is the time to boast our capabilities in radio communication and data exchange - said Marcin Wiśniewski, acting President of the Board of OBR CTM SA.
