MANDARINE ESPRESSO SET AT TARGI KIELCE'S EXHIBITION

The National Artistic Handicrafts Exhibition CRAFTS features the intriguing names which describe handmade ceramics.

Craft Point is a ceramics and handicraft workshop founded by its owner - Justyna Tylka. The studio is the result of a quest to find her own walk of life. She says that this has been the way to realise her passions, the place to express herself through unique artefacts she creates.  Works' form express mass production and everyday life's secondaryity abandonment, the unleash of unrestricted freedom of the imagination. Extraordinary ceramic fruit-plates, unique cups, mugs, plates and decorative lamps are some of the creations.  Main materials used are clay and enamel.

Working with clay requires patience, concentration and time, yet at the same time this work gives a lot of joy and satisfaction when the desired effect is achieved - says Justyna Tylka , the owner and the founder of the Craft Point Workshop.  - Each stage of such creation is a challenge.  The first stage is the search for inspiration, the second is the selection of forms, the third step is the design, work with the materials, textures, shapes.  Often this stage yields new ideas.  Then a product, e.g. a bowl, a mug or a plate, are baked in the oven. This gives me time to think about patterns, decorations, colours.   This is a constant excitement with a note of uncertainty - what will be the result?

The wonderful results of these artistic struggles can be seen at the workshop's booth put up on 9 and 10 December during the 6th National Artistic Handicrafts Exhibition Crafts inTargi Kielce.  You will find great utility ceramics, including the   the Mandarin Espresso - a ceramic hand-made set of 2 cups with juicy mandarin-coloured plates, a Breeze of the Balkans - a ceramic set of two clay bowls with a lid and a saucer.  Yet the owner emphasizes that the Craft Point is much more than the world of ceramics.  Craft Point abounds with ideas for different forms of expression -  these may sometimes be decorative boxes and cases, lamp shades, furniture restoration, combination of different techniques and materials.   Knowledge and experience transfer at special ceramic workshops for those who want to learn about clay working and sintering techniques.  A souvenir, a reward of your efforts is a hand-made product of your own device.
