About the classic flat-bench press
The classic flat-bench press Polish Cup otherwise bench press when lying is one of the powerlifting disciplines. A contestant lies on a bench, puts hands on the bar so that the space between hands is not wider than 81cm. The contestant on the bench must keep buttocks and shoulders in contact with the bench, the feet must contact the floor. When a contestant takes the bar from the racks when instructed, the bar goes down to the chest as low as contact is established. After touching the chest with bar, the contestant pushes the barbell up until his arms are straight. At this point referee commands to put it back in the stand.
