- In conjunction with the Minister of National Defence we have refined the concept of Poland’s defence industry consolidation; this has just entered the last phase and will be presented to the Prime Minister in a few weeks time – said the Minister of Treasury Włodzimierz Karpiński in his meeting with journalists – We intend to have one national concern. And this process will be decided into phases – adds Minister Karpiński.

According to the Ministers, all the state-owned business sector companies will be the subject of the consolidation process. This is done in relation to whole spectrum of modern defence; not only is this composed of the army potentials, but also of production and technological processes, technological idea implementation and economic leverage. The idea behind the consolidation process is a combination of the assets managed by the Minister of Treasury (they will be organised on commercial law company principle) so as the broadly defined Poland’s defence would benefit.

These measures are necessary in today’s reality in order for us not to be marginalised in the European, highly consolidated industry sector. This is important when seen in the light of the European Council’s meeting scheduled for December. The head of states and governments will focus in their discussions on safety and security policies. – I hope that once the Prome Minister has made his decision (…) we shall be able to finish the discussion and debate phase and focus on the most important issues – that is deliveries for the benefit of the Polish army, enhancement of our export potentials – this is how Minister Siemoniak recapitulated the meeting.

The press conference was held within the framework of the 21st International Defence Industry Exhibition; the Kielce’s MSPO continues until 5th September.
