Swietokrzyskie Oncology Centre offers free-of-charge mammography screening tests available
at the REHMED-PLUS Expo; the mobile health-centre has been equipped with a digital
mammography machine

Mammography is the process of X-rays testing; now it is the best procedure to diagnose an early-stage breast cancer. This is a swift and non-invasive procedure. Mammography makes it possible to diagnose 90-95% of cancerous lesions in an early breast-cancer development stage; thus in most cases cancer is curable.

In Poland breast cancer is the second most severe reason for deaths. Every year 14,000 women learn that they suffer from breast cancer, 5,000 will eventually die. A substantial part of this group has never done mammography tests. The only way to improve the statistics is to undergo regular tests; such screenings are also available at upcoming edition of the Fair of Rehabilitation, Therapy & Care REHMED-PLUS.

Free-of-charge mammography screening are a part of the Breast Cancer Early Detection Popularisation Programme – they are available every 24 months for women age 50-69
