Privileged exhibitors of defense expo
According to the Announcement of the President of the Polish Patent Office of 11 July 2016, MSPO and Logistyka exhibitions have been identified as those that secure exhibitors' priority to obtain protection rights or registration rights according to the date of utility model or industrial design application. In order to be granted a patent for the new developments presented at the expo, exhibitors should report the fact at the Exhibitor Service Office.
Previously, companies sought property rights protection for products and ideas presented to the public at Poland's expos. Under the-then regulations firms were obliged to register the design in the Patent Office or the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market. This had to be done before putting innovations on show at an exhibition. Now novelties are protected with safety certificate issued by the organizer of the exhibition where a product or prototype was publicly presented. Such document is also issued at global expos. Exhibitors have long awaited changes which would allow to avoid formalities and present innovative ideas and products at exhibitions.
