OSKA 2019 HELD IN TARGI KIELCE - THE COMPETITIONS RESULTS HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED

The National Students Conference  for Sound-Engineers (OSKA)  was held for the first time six years ago upon the initiative of Ela Maniakowska from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Initially, this event brought together only local students, but over time the meeting has gained popularity and aroused interest of acoustic enthusiasts from all over the country.

This year's edition of the three-day conference included a number of competitions for participants.

The OSKArec competition was held for the first time  - this expanded the event’s agenda with cultural elements.   

- This year, apart from being able to listen about music, we could also hear music.  Ever since the beginning it has been my dream from to make OSKA reflect how interdisciplinary aspect of acoustics. You can talk about the acoustics with a biologist, a doctor of medicine, an architect and probably a few other scientists, but first of all also with a musician. This was something that we could not organize in our engineering-physical milieus. I am very happy that this year the University of Music joined the group of organisers and included this cultural element in OSKA agenda. The Jury Panel was composed of the 10 specialists in the field of music, sound engineering and acoustics. The   Kwiat Jabłoni sent the evaluation of the work too.  "Impossible" was remixed by students taking part in the competition.

The  poster competition features Magdalena Matys as the winner - the award was funded by the Świętokrzyskie Voivode Mrs. Agata Wojtyszek.

The last competition organised by the Main Board of the Polish Acoustic Society (PTA) related to scientific papers. The winners are:

1st place - Hubert Siuzdak for the lecture on: Voice conversion with deep learning methods

2nd place - Mieszko Fraś  for the lecture on: Audio systems synchronization sampled with independent clocks

3rd place - Jan Wilczek for his lecture on: Multithreaded hybrid synthesizer with analog modellingsystems elements

The audience also distinguished  Aleksandra Koniuch  for Ubi Caritas (as the OSKArec participant) and Alicja Jasińska for her lecture on: Examining the room size perception depending on the G sound strength.
