Partner of Targi Kielce, the Kielce University of Technology, has earned an award of the Prime Minister in recognition of its outstanding scientific achievements
The first place in the category of outstanding scientific and technological achievements for "A New System of Measuring Outlines of Machine Components and Modernization of Existing Equipment” has gone to rector of the Kielce University of Technology, Prof. Stanisław Adamczak, and Dariusz Janiecki, PhD, deputy director of the Centre for Laser Metal Technologies.
The reason for such a decision having been made, as the jury panel's report says, is the fact that "the applicants conducted extensive research on the surface structure (coarseness, waviness), as well as on the shape of surfaces of objects of both small and large sizes. Afterwards, they made an analytical evaluation of the existing 135 measurement methods and available instruments, on the basis of which they recommended the most suitable measuring equipment and technique". The report also points out both the researchers' effective work on the development of a special measuring device and the development of a special programme. Their project has brought a significant financial result - the industry has earned PLN 13.5 million, with a further PLN 1.5 million being a profit from export.
In addition to their ongoing activities, Targi Kielce and the Kielce University of Technology, through their creative initiatives and new projects, stimulate the development of the economy in the Świętokrzyskie province. Early last year, these institutions concluded a co-operation agreement. Following this agreement, Targi Kielce, organizer of trade fairs and economic exhibitions, with expert support and credentials being provided by the University, will establish co-operation with business entities, institutions and other organizations. At the same time, the Kielce University of Technology, being the leading institution of higher education in the field of technology in this region, will promote and provide expert support to fair events organized by Targi Kielce.
