There is no civilisation without plastic products! The negative connotation related to the word "plastics" overshadow the fact that polymers are in great demand, friendly to people and the environment. PLASTPOL expo joins the educational campaign
The "dreadful public image" of plastics is attributed to, inter alia the stereotypes that hold that plastics are value-less, plastics industry is in opposition to nature, result in environment pollution, are difficult to dispose and render harmless. Plastics processing business-segment has became the hostage of these stereotypes, a scape-goat on Poland's and the EU's arena. For years it has been blamed for all and civilization mistakes.
The educational campaign is held within the scope of 2017's PLASTPOL Expo
The social campaign will also be publicized in Targi Kielce at the PLASTPOL Expo. - "The People-Friendly and People-Needed Polymers" is intended to do away with the negative communication burden polymer materials have suffered from. The initiator of the campaign designed to change social attitudes and introduce new terminology is the Business Image Publishers - a well known and respected industry publishing house, the issuer of the opinion-forming Plastics Review as well as the Plastics Online - the web service available at eplastics.pl.
The campaign objective is to enhance public polymers business-sector's image in Poland. Consequently the negative social image of polymers industry ought to change. Dissemination of the POLYMERS campaign message would result in the polymerbusiness perception change and the new image amongst the general public. This would undoubtedly lead to greater acceptance of the polymers industry companies. This would be a reviving impulse on the business" - argues Waldemar Sobański, CEO of BUSINESS IMAGE. - In the public discourse, the "Plastics" slogan induces the demons of socially-rooted stereotypes. Then legions of environmentalists or quasi-environmental activate. Politicians of all ranks turn their backs on plastics - any lobbying for the "synthetic materials" industry is pointless because it has proven to be ineffective. In social consciousness "plastics" have a really bad image. Reshaping of social awareness always starts with the language and the meanings it signifies. The "polymers" term does not carry the negative odium of the word "plastics". Introduction of this the notion into the public discourse will allow you to trigger whole array of positive activities in collaboration with the media and social organizations
Put the POLYMERS logo, support the plastics industry development.
- To begin with, we encourage companies which care for the positive polymer industry image to place the logo on the opening page of their web service, - Waldemar Sobański adds. - The POLYMERS campaign logo should be displayed on the web sites of polymers processors, raw materials and machines suppliers as well as services providers. Let us make the POLYMERS campaign our industry's fashion. The campaign logos can also be placed in other media. We encourage all polymer industry as well as chemical business-sector organizations to join in the educational campaign targeted at the general public. They are also requested to recommend and encourage the organisation members to participate. This is what the Polymers Distributors Club has already done.
