43rd Polish Physicists Congress - the most important get-together of physics professionals and aficionados
More than 420 scientists and physics enthusiasts from Poland, European and American universities and schools gathered in Targi Kielce Congress Centre. The bi-annual event was inaugurated on Sunday, September 6 with Janusz Radek live concert. Lectures, plenary and specialized sessions will continue until 11 September.
The event guests are representatives of scientific milieus from all over the world, including delegates form such countries as Czech Republic, Japan, China, Great Britain, Hungary, the USA. The congress mainly focusses on results presentation of research results of scientific institutions from home and abroad. The meeting provides an opportunity for discussions, ideas exchange, accomplishments promotion and cooperation enhancement. The event brings together experienced and budding physicists. A series of lectures have been crafted for school teachers - these will give an insight into the latest achievements of physics. The convention will encompass the General Assembly of Delegates of the Polish Physical Society.
Awards and medals, including Marian Smoluchowski Award and Emil Warburg Award granted jointly by the FTT and the German Physical Society will be presented during the Congress
In-between lectures and sessions the participants can admire a special-nature exhibition of photographs. The photographs author - Jan Róg is astro amateur photographer. The artist has gained recognition at international astronomical forums; well-known astro photographers from home and abroad (eg. Finland) visited his studio.
The Congress is organized by the Kielce FTT Division represented by physicists from the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce and Kielce University of Technology.
