According to the latest data by PlasticsEurope - the Association of Plastics Manufacturers, the demand for plastics ranks Poland sixth in Europe, right after Germany, Italy, France, Spain and the UK.  Packaging, building and construction and automotive industry - these are Poland's business- sectors which expressed the greatest demand for plastics.

According to the latest industry reports, plastics consumption has increased by 6.1 percent compared to last year and reached  3.2 million tons. Domestic plastics production remained stable, however it did not satisfy the demand from Polish plastics converters. Poland imports mainly plastics in primary forms.. For many years Germany has been Poland's main trading partner in export and import of  plastics in primary forms and plastics products. Therefore German companies account for largest group of foreign exhibitors at Poland's biggest industry expo held in Kielce. Outside the EU, Ukraine and Russia are Poland's largest export markets - Ukraine for plastics in primary forms and Russia for plastics products.

- A stable growth of Poland's plastics industry observed over the recent years is mainly attributed to related industries' development; first and foremost the packaging industry, electric and electronic equipment and automotive segment - said Kazimierz Borkowski, Managing Director of the PlasticsEurope Polska Foundation at the Targi Kielce press conference -  Poland has quickly made up for the slight decline observed in the 2008-2009 crisis period, and has been in up-trend for several years. In 2015 the growth in manufacturing  reached 5.8% - well above the world's average (2%).

Poland has also showed a steady growth in plastic and rubber products - according to GUS - the Central Statistics Office data, in 2015 the industry's turnover increased by 6.1%.
