The Organisers of Poland's Muay Thai Championship

The sports agenda of this year's FIT weekend has been expanded to include an important event - Polish IFMA Muay Thai Championship. The event organizers: Kielce Klincz club - Martial Arts Section and Targi Kielce.

Muay Thai is a thousand year old martial art and form of combat sport. The fight, accompanied with a range of rituals and customs in the preparatory phase make it a colourful and breathtaking spectacle. This may be one of the reasons for Muay Thai to become increasingly popular.

- Some 20 or 30 years ago karate, kick-boxing, kung fu used to be the flavour of the month. These would be popular martial arts. Muay Thai was hardly known. Now Muay Thai competitions enjoy full-house attendance. -  says Rafał Szlachta, president of the Polish Muay Thai Association.
