Vocational training and expectations of metal-casting industry
Entrepreneurs representing more than 60 Świętokrzyskie-based metallurgy and casting companies discussed the future of vocational education with the city and province representatives. The panel was held in Targi Kielce's Congress Centre. The purpose of the meeting was to identify recruitment problems employers face. The discussion has indicated an urgent need to educate young people in vocational-training scheme; machine operators, turners, locksmiths or welders are in great demand. However, education should encompass modern development and devices used in a workplace. Foreign languages and modern technologies should also be included. Thus a Practical Training Centre, i.e a new vocational training centre is being created in Kielce.
- Today we present how vocational education can be supported. Looking at this EU financial perspective, it is worth considering a good use of the resources designed to support vocational education in the region- said Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship Marshal - Adam Jarubas who has also joined the conference. Mr Jarubas reported that in the 2014-2020 period the province will have almost 50 million Euros for this purpose.
The local the province and the city of Kielce authorities have jointly taken up the initiative to promote vocational education in the region, enhance education level and adapt curricula which respond to the labour market requirements.
The conference was organized by the Kielce Town Hall, Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship's Marshal Office the Practical Training Centre in Kielce.
