President of the Republic of Poland Bronisław Komorowski formally opened the MSPO

“I wish to congratulate the organisers of this important and required exhibition initiative; the show of a long-standing tradition has been a good promotion vehicle for Polish economy. May the exhibitors and participants have interesting observations, gain new experiences and conclude profitable business contracts” said President Bonisław Komorowski upon the opening the International Defence Industry Exhibition .

In addition to the 20th International Defence Industry Exhibition’s honorary patron there have been a whole guest of honour, including such personalities as the Minister of National Defence Tomasz Siemoniak and Italian Minister of of Defence Giampaolo Di Paola. In addition to the above, there have also been Polish Foreign Affair Minister Radosław Sikorski and Stanisław Koziej; the head of National Security Bureau. Mieczysław Cieniuch- Chief of the General Staff of Polish Army has also attended the event and personally observed the dynamic show presented by Polish Armed Forces.

The 20th anniversary of Europe’s third largest exhibition solely devoted to the defence industry sector promises to be a spectacular event; there are 400 exhibitors from 29 counties. In addition to the companies from the defence business sector there have been few dozens of official delegations representing foreign governments as well as 150 representatives of embassies.

“We need to utilise the full potentials of Poland’s defence industry sector when realising the priorities of our army as well as when developing the air defence systems – said President Komorwski – the gear and the systems showcased at the Kielce’s MSPO exhibition serve as the proof that a vast majority of domestic companies is capable of taking up the challenge; especially if they find foreign cooperating parties. The Defence Industry Exhibition is is the chance for the whole industry and business sector”.


The Exhibition guests and visitors had the chance to admire the dynamic presentation featuring an ambushed platoon’s tactics demonstrated by the soldiers of 17th Wielkopolska Mechanised Brigade. This has been the display of Polish soldiers’ abilities which make them efficient and effective even in the most arduous conditions of a battle field.

The International Defence Exhibition continues until 6th September.
