Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements "PIAP" showcases its latest equipment developments
For a number of year the Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements has been the International Defence Industry Exhibition exhibitor. PIAP was established in 1965; the state-owned institute's primary task was to develop and implement new technologies, automation systems, production equipment and specialized measurement and control instruments in various industries. PIAP has developed, inter alia the National System for Automation and Measurements POLMATIK, automated production and assembly stations for FSM Tychy, automated and robotised technological lines in kinescope factory in Piaseczno.
In recent years, PIAP has developed and launched the production of anti-terrorist, mobile robots. An example of an innovative scout-robot, i.e. PIAP FENIX will be presented at this year's MSPO.
PIAP FENIX is a lightweight scout-robot. PIAP FENIX has been designed for reconnaissance mission in direct vicinity of military operations. It reaches places inaccessible to humans.
PIAP FENIX is an excellent off-road vehicle (wheel and track system has been equipped with moving front stabilizers). Therefore it easily travels on roads, water, in road-less places as well as in urban areas.
What makes this robot unique is the fact that with such a low weight (15 kg) and at high speed (10 km / h), its operational time reaches 6 hours!
