PZHGRiDI celebrates success
Ryś Polski - Columba livia type of pigeon is one Poland's oldest pigeon breeds. For centuries this breed has been a part of Poland's natural landscape. This breed has been characterized with its beautiful silhouette, stable health condition, self-sufficiency. Unfortunately, following various misunderstandings, Polish breed has been modernized by German breeders. As a result of this hasty modification, not only has it lost the typically Polish and noble silhouette; it has also irretrievably lost its best functional characteristics.
The Polish Association of Pigeon and Small Live Stock Breeders has launched the "SOS-Save the Polish Breeds" campaign - this resulted in putting the breed at the official European Federation list in its old-Polish original form.
You also have a chance to see all these amazing birds - join us on 30 and 31 January 2016 for the National Pedigree Pigeon Exhibition and Small Livestockheld in Targi Kielce.
