The   Polish sutasz name comes from the French word soutache - braid, a type of string decorations that are sewn onto military uniforms.  Soutache is originaly derived from the Hungarian word sujtas - a braid. Soutache is a hand embroidery type - viscose strings are used. These are called soutache.

Making unique jewellery with the use of soutache technique requires a sophisticated aesthetic sense as  thin, viscose or pure silk strings are sewn together manually and then adorned with cabochons - smoothly polished stones, crystals or glass beads. One can also use natural stones such as  agates,  turquoiseshowlites,  desert sands and many other.  The  Christmas Fair  is the showcase for the soutache technique made products by  Renata Kaczmarzyk. The products are truly flamboyant and original, made with great care and attention to every detail.
