TARGI KIELCE - THE FAMILY PHYSICIANS' GREAT FESTIVAL

2 June in the Targi Kielce Congress Centre marks the beginning of the XVI Family Medicine Congress . Family medicine experts and practitioners have been brought together for the four-day congress in order to share their experience, knowledge and ideas. The Congress has been divided into lectures and workshop sessions. Most of the congress panels are devoted to  the latest achievements in medicine and clinical issues family doctors are confronted in their every-day practice . Apart from theoretical knowledge, the congress participants will develop their practical skills in thematic, hands-on sessions.

- We want to encourage young doctors finishing to choose family medicine as their main specialisation.  Family doctors may also become scientists - emphasized Tomasz Tomasik PhD MD, President of the College of Family Physicians in Poland  at a press conference held to inaugurate the XVI Family Medicine Congress. - The family medicine domain also boasts doctorates and professors titles. The congress has been also designed to promote doctors' scientific achievements. Doctors will have the opportunity to present their scientific developments. The congress also includes the session on habilitation-works presentations - he adds.

Experts emphasize that family medicine requires promotion, especially among young doctors. The role of family doctors ought to be strengthen in the primary health-care system. A family doctor is the basis of the health-care system; therefore they should be provided with the best work and development conditions.

Nearly 1,000 experts from all over Poland have registered for the congress. From 2 to 5 June the Targi Kielce Congress Centre is Poland's family-medicine centre of expertise. The congress accompanied with the exhibition of medical products and services targeted at doctors and medical centres.
