The Day of German Unity (Tag der Deutschen Einheit) celebrated on 3rd October is a public, national holiday. It dates back to 1990 when the German Democratic Republic and West Berlin were reunited with Federal Republic of Germany.
To celebrate the occasion, the Consul general of Germany to Krakow Werner Köhler PhD will pay a visit to Kielce on 2nd October. The Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship capital will also be visited by the deputy Consul Mrs Isolde Felskau. Werner Köhler is to hold a meeting with the Kielce City Mayor Wojciech Lubawski (at 12.00 in the City Hall), Swietokrzyskie Voivode Bożentyna Pałka-Koruba (at 13.00 in the Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship Office) and the Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship Marshal Adam Jarubas (at 14.00 Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship Marsha’s Office).
The Consuls will also attend a meeting with representatives of companies with German capital which operate in our region as well as head teachers of schools and educational institutions which follow the extended German language and culture curriculum as well as uniformed forces representatives.
