”GDDKiA has announced the results of contractors with regards to the number of irregularities in specific contract realisation. – said Lech Witecki the General Director of National Roads and Motorways during the opening ceremony of the AUTOSTRADA-POLSKA trade fair which is held in Targi Kielce. Public communication and disclosure of all weaknesses as well as strong points of specific companies has been designed to help them realise how important is the quality of the road they build as well as the consequences of the renovation of the road which has been covered by the warranty. We are glad to se the warranty extension up to the period of 5 or even 10 years since companies feel that they build a road not for a year but for dozens of years. The GDDKiA ranking is the recapitulation of the construction activities up to 2011; the ranking is available at the Directorate’s exhibition stand at the Kielce’s AUTOSTRADA-POLSKA trade fair. Next edition will be published already in June.

Tadeusz Jarmuziewicz, the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy has highlighted the problems of small and medium sized companies segment in the road construction sector “We need to consider the security of subcontractors as early as the preparation stage of contracts for road and motorway construction. We shall propose the following solution – the main contactor will be supposed to deposit a 3-5% indemnity of the investment project value which would in turn increase the sense of security for the subcontractors. A six-hour debate will be held in Polish Parliament tomorrow; will be our proposal among the point discussed there
