Innovative extinguishing techniques which utilise water mist were discussed at the international conference held within the cope of EDURA by the Rescue Technique and Education Foundation
Water is in fact an efficient and above all safe extinguishing agent; and although nobody needed further persuassion Junior Brigadier PhD Engineer Bernard Król, a researcher from Main School of Fire Service delivered a lecture which attracted numerous audience. The conference also discussed the use of the - abrasive water jet Cobra used in UK. Tom Capeling - the Chief Fire Officer presented the appliance and techniques. Benefits of a low-pressure fog equipment were demonstrated by a former NASA employee Dr. Klimkowski. The specificity of a mist hydrant was the topic of the next lecture delivered by the Engineer Józef Seweryn from the Center for Firefighting Research and Training Techniques Szczyrzyc.
The conference was complemented spectacular shows - they featured Cobra system, mist fire extinguisher and FOGANT fire hydrant as well a ZIKUN turbojet unit.
