THE INTERNATIONAL FIREFIGHTERS' DAY

On the occasion of firefighters' holiday, the organisational team of the International Fire Protection & Rescue Exhibition - Kielce IFRE-EXPO wishes all State Fire Services officers as well ass members of the Voluntary Fire Brigades to return home safely after each intervention, peaceful service time, perseverance and fortitude.

THE INTERNATIONAL FIREFIGHTERS' DAY

The history of St. Florian days celebrations - the saint-patron of firefighters dates back to the sixteenth century.  Saint Florian became people's advocate after a fire at Krakow's Kleparz in 1528, the place where the Saint's relics were kept.  The fire devoured the nearby buildings, however the St. Florian church was saved.  Since that time the holy martyr has been the patron of those who combat fires.  Upon starting the service, firefightersvow dedication, bravery in saving people's in danger lives and protecting property in danger, even at the expense of their own lives.

The Kielce IFRE-EXPO is held at Targi Kielce from 8 to 10 June 2017. The event is mainly targeted at firefighters from the the State Services and Volunteer Fire Brigades.
