Innovation is finding a solution to the problem, a new way which is better than the one you have already known.  Problems can be solved in two ways: in a thoughtful or chaotic manner.  Most people go for the second option.  Unfortunately it takes much more time and does not necessarily provides a solution.  TRIZ (theory of inventive problem solving) has developed in order to find optimal solutions, the theory has won the recognition of the most innovative engineers in the world.
