The "Mieszko and Dobrawa" BELL commemorates the 1050th  ANNIVERSARY OF THE POLAND'S BAPTISM

On May 11, 2015, the Jan Felczyński bell-foundry saw the  the first bell-casting proedure of the  "Mieszko and Dobrawa" bell. The bell has been designed to commemorate the 1050th anniversary of the baptism Poland  and at the same time to honor the first prince and princess of the Piast dynasty. The bell birth ceremony was attended by the guests of honour, including  HE Archbishop Wojciech Polak - Polish Primate,  the Archbishop of Gniezno, HE Archbishop Józef Michalik, Archbishop of Przemysl accompanied by numerous representatives of the local media. This has been the time ever, when the Polish Primate partook in the bell-birth  ceremony.  The 220-kilo exhibit is the fruit of cooperation between the team of the First Piast Museum in Lednica chaired by professor Andrzej M. Wyrwa - the head of the museum, Jan Felczyński bell-foundry from Przemysl and Rduch Bells & Clocks company of Czernica. The bell, with the consent of the Museum Director  will for the first time be exhibited at the SACROEXPO in Kielce from 22 to 24 June 2015.
