Defence industry may become the driving force for Polish economy development - Mateusz Morawiecki - the Minister of Development and deputy Defense Minister Bartosz Kownacki acknowledged at the domestic defence industry focussed conference. The Gazeta Polska daily held the session within the scope of Kielce Defence Industry Exhibition
The defense sector has become a part of the "Responsible Development Plan" - stressed the Deputy Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki - the defense industry may activate a rapid development of the whole economy. However this business sector needs to become competitive. The Deputy Prime Minister informed that a detailed plan is being drawn - the plan outlines the defense industry's role in Poland's re-industrialization. He also added that domestic defense industry companies need to engage as well as undergo thorough changes.
The deputy Defense Minister Bartosz Kownacki stressed that the defense sector, partially state-owned must change its mentality and compete to win foreign contracts. Bartosz Kownacki said that exports-related issues are the determinants of the defence industry's condition and standing.
The debate on "Poland's Safety and Security in the light of the Responsible Development Plan" organized by the Gazeta Polska daily was held on the last day of the Targi Kielce's International Defence Industry Exhibition.
