THE PROUD VETERAN STATUETTE PRESENTED AT THE MSPO

The Proud Veteran statuette was presented to President Andrzej Siekludzki by the Director of the Department of Social Affairs, Plenipotentiary of the Minister of National Defence for Veterans Mr Wojciech Drobny. The Director also read Mariusz Błaszczak, the Minister of National Defence’s address. 

- Those who paid difficult and dangerous service in missions deserve profound respect and recognition.  Respect for veterans is our obligation. It is also important to provide support to those who have been injured, who suffered as a result of foreign military missions they have taken part in - Director Drobny read the address.  The Minister thanked the Association members for their efforts for veterans.

Two commemorative medals were awarded to the President and Commercial Director of "Egida It Solutions".

The ceremony was also the occasion to present a special prize to Major Marcel Podhorodecki from the 12th Mechanized Brigade from Szczecin. Major Marcel Podhorodecki received the Honorary Membership of the Association of Injured and Victims on Missions Outside the Country for his exceptional commitment and support for veterans.

The Proud Veteran marked its place in Kielce in 2013 for the first time, since then the event has become a permanent fixture in the Kielce exhibition and congress centre’s calendar.

The statuette symbolizes a veteran soldier who, despite wounds is proud to offer their services.  Retired colonel Grzegorz Wajda is the author of the award.

The Proud Veteran Statuette distinction is awarded by members of the Association of Injured and Victims on Missions Outside the Country.  The award is granted to companies and institutions which support veteran soldiers injured in foreign missions. This support can come in various types and forms: financial, in-kind, project-based and logistic.  Tomasz Kloc the President of the Association of Injured and Victims on Missions Outside the Country clearly stated the amount of support that is not the most important thing -  "The most important is regularity, continuity and contact with people, when they  stay in touch with the staff, employees of the company and become involved in various types of projects. Such support makes us feel that a company or institution demonstrates its interest and thus would like to do something for veteran soldiers within their capabilities."
